Postsecondary Opportunities

Long View staff know what our students are capable of and want them to have meaningful opportunities after they graduate high school.

At Long View, students will have opportunities to explore various career paths and develop essential workplace skills through relevant and authentic classroom instruction, career fairs, guest speakers, community outings and counselor-led postsecondary planning. 

If a student wants to get a job, Long View can help them practice interview skills, explore job boards and fill out job applications. If a student is employed while attending Long View, they can earn Jeffco high school elective credit, called On-The-Job Experience Credit (OJE) for every 100 hours they work. 

Long View’s counselor can assist students in exploring educational, military and career opportunities available after high school. No matter if they have a plan, or have no idea where to start, our counselor has the resources to make exploring life after high school relevant to each student’s goals.

Jeffco partners with postsecondary institutions to provide opportunities for education during high school. These postsecondary opportunity programs extend college credit opportunities to students so they can begin their college careers before setting foot on a college campus.

Jeffco believes that every student should have access to the opportunity of experiencing college before they finish high school. Free or low-cost college credit can save a family thousands of dollars during a student's academic career.
